So Pedro gave me a sweet little digital camcorder for my birthday. Today I figured out how to post videos here on the blog. It's fun to watch Bino in action, no? But I can't figure out who that weird guy is that appears once Bino's video ends, or how to get him to go away.

Bino takes Boston.
It's spring break here, and to celebrate our time off, Pedro, Bino and I went to Boston together for the first time. Here we are in Boston Common. We tried wheeling Bino around Boston in his carriage for a little bit, but he wasn't happy there for long. Riding on Papa was much more pleasant. And those carriages are a real pain, anyway.

Do the rubber duck.
Pedro and Bino saw this video of Ernie (or Enrique, as he's known in Spanish) & co. on Sesame Street one Saturday morning. Bino loves the song and right now he's watching the youtube video with Papa, entranced. This version is so much cooler than the rubber duckie song I remember from my childhood.

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8
The last night of our time in Guatemala, Pedro's cousin, Lillian del Carmen, helped calm a very fussy Bino by dancing and singing to him a Phillip Glass number, the lyrics of which are produced in their entirety in the title of this blog post. Now that Lillian isn't here to help, Pedro and I still sometimes sing this tune to Bino when he gets fussy. The repetition of numbers is like an incantation, and it can stop Bino in his tracks-- even when he's in the back seat of the car by himself.
Laundry
You may have noticed the stack of laundry in the last few photos. I'd thought I might be able to finish folding it while Bino amused himself in his playpen, but he had other ideas, as you can see here. While it's still extremely difficult for me to get much done with him demanding so much of my attention, I can't say I mind it too much. I wouldn't trade these days for anything.
