Bino, felino

Papa supplied the title for this post. It's a shame he doesn't have time to write more here. Bino confiscated one of Tito's jingly balls a few days ago, and today he discovered Tiger's hanging mouse. Luckily the cats don't seem to mind sharing their toys.

Climbing

Here he is, again, trying to scale the bookshelf. Yikes. Look at his little feet coming off the ground. He wound up standing on Papa's shoe to get a bit higher. It's only a matter of time before he figures out how to stand on the shelf itself.

23 seconds to trouble

Now that Bino can reach the books for himself, they've become a favorite obsession. We have to watch him now, more than ever. Watch how quickly he gets himself into potential trouble.

Yayo

On May 9, Bino's Yayo left this earth, and we are very sad that Bino won't grow up with him around. I posted this photo before-- and while it is a cute picture of Bino, it is a beautiful one of René. During this visit, René was constantly having to deal with physical limitations and the frustrations they brought, but in this moment he seemed entirely at peace.

I remember walking in on this scene that morning and feeling like I'd entered some kind of sacred space. There was something about how the light was falling, and about the serenity of René's expression. He and Daniel even seemed to wear haloes. This is how I will remember him--quietly gazing down at my son, illuminated.

Hats

Now that it's sunnier, we're able to take Bino out for more walks, which he loves. The hat keeps the sun out of his eyes, and he looks pretty stylish in it, too. Papa looks pretty cute in his, too.

Inspecting the music collection.

Today Bino has crawled across the room (no small distance for a little guy) three times in pursuit of this activity. Looks like it's time to start baby-proofing the house.

On the move

He crawls like a pro now. He especially likes to chase after Tiger, who is still too fast for him to catch. Pedro says we'll have to remove this video when Bino is big enough to be embarrassed by the fact that he's only wearing his diaper here, so enjoy this while you can.
